What project will you be working on?

At TCL, we've launched a major AI research initiative focused on Reasoning Multimodal Large Language Models. We are assembling an elite, international team to develop foundational AI technologies that reason across text, images, and audio with the goal of turning Large Model research breakthroughs into real-world applications

Our initial focus is on vertical domains critical to TCL's business, such as semiconductor display technologies, where data is inherently multimodal—combining visual and textual information. To unlock deep insights and support complex decision-making in these domains, our models must be capable of sophisticated multimodal reasoning.

AI Research Team Leader

Who is it for?
  • People with at least 5 years of experience in AI / ML research
  • Working as a technical or team leader in AI
  • MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related technical field
Who are we looking for?
  • Interested in developing a career in AI at a top R&D center in Shenzhen - China's Silicon Valley
  • Ready to take on the challenge of developing and mentoring AI teams on a global project
  • Eager to gain exceptional experience building multi-modal LLM models
What do we require?
  • Strong foundation in deep learning and knowledge of large model architectures such as Transformers, CLIP, and SAM
  • Practical experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch preferred)
  • Publication track record, especially publications at ML-related conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, ACL
  • Communicative English skills (minimum B2 level)

What is the TCL AI Research Program?

What is the recruitment process like and how long does it take?

The recruitment process is conducted on behalf of TCL by the Academic Partners Foundation and begins with an application via the form on our website. After reviewing your CV, we will call you to get to know you better. The final step in the recruitment process will be an interview with a member of the TCL team and a technical interview with a manager from HQ.

What are the program salaries?

As part of the program, you can expect exceptionally competitive employment conditions, with a minimum salary of PLN 20,000. The salary is determined individually and depends on the candidate's experience.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes, you can apply for both positions. To do this, you must apply separately for each position.

Can I apply by email?

No, applications can only be submitted via the form on our website.

Can I apply if I don't have a university degree?

Due to visa requirements, a minimum first-cycle degree (engineering / bachelor's degree) is required.

Can I apply if I don't speak English?

Communicative English is essential due to the planned work in an international environment.

Can I apply if I don't have the required technical knowledge?

The program is not a bootcamp. We require candidates to demonstrate adequate professional competencies.

When does the program begin?

The departure date for Shenzhen and the start of project work is agreed upon individually with each candidate. It also depends on the visa process, which can take up to 3-4 months.

Can I work remotely during the program?

No, the program requires temporary on-site work at the TCL R&D center in Shenzhen. The employer covers transportation costs between Poland and China, including travel to Poland for holidays.

What availability is required of me?

The job offer is for a full-time position - 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).

What type of contract can I expect?

Participants in the program sign a contract with TCL's Chinese branch. The contract is similar to a Chinese employment contract, but with special provisions, including 20 days of annual leave, an 8-hour workday, and other benefits available to employees under the program.

Who is the program organizer?

The TCL AI Research Program is organized by TCL in partnership with the Academic Partners Foundation.
